Poetry: Princess Diana an English Rose
"Diana, An English Rose"
An English "rose" of Royal blood
Ceases yet to be --
The Queen of Hearts mourned by all
For the entire world to see
Full of pain and mystery
Why is she never more to be?
Of warmth and joy, and growing pains
With such vulnerability
The blush of youth the shyness blooms
To the highest elegant maturity --
England's pride forever more
Shall always live in Britain's history
England's pride well known across the sea
God's splendor worthy to be Royalty
Draped in lions a coat of arms
Red, yellow and black I see
A princess now in Britain's history
A mother's love forever gone,
To guide, to love, and just to be
Has trained two princes to know
The Common and the Royalty
No "naive of hearts" to warm thy soul
It's life's trickery
True loves been lost in life's unfair scheme
Never more to be
Rest in peace my love beneath the Willow tree
Of angels and birds and gentle winds
Sunlight and warmth never more to be
Diana, Princess of Wales,
On your "island" you are now free
Ironic is the path of life
We know not where we shall be
But in the hearts of many
Britain's Queen you will always be!
