Writing, What Is It Really
Writing according to this writer is more than the elements of grammar, style, editing and education. That ART and its disciplines have changed dramatically with the advent of Cable TV vs. the Networks, and the Internet vs. Cable TV. The one thing that stays consistent is "real" Journalism.
Fierce competition is rampant wherever the written word is penned, and it's never-ending face has to change to meet up with the ever-changing world. What use to be strict disciplines has been laid open to new, refreshing and accepted norms of a new writing style. Never to replace the old, but to meet the demands of an information era in the "halls of writing," ... Politically, Socially, Economically and forever more, ... in the realm of business.
More so than ever, writing has taken on a new demeanor in the form of sales writing, with the advent of on-line shopping, increased catalog sales and the necessity of mail promotional letters.
Yet, to this writer it is more, oh yes!, so much more. It is a living breathing thing with the power and influence for change. ...It is the beating pulse that drives you. The quest, the challenge, the story ... the unending search to express a goal or prove a case.
If flows like an open spigot - or fights like a beast of prey devouring your thoughts to be shelved for another day. It is the ability to "whet" the appetite, question-the-heart and relate a hope of sustenance, of all that is and will be.
I see it in everything "about" me - a story to be told, a tale to be spun, a fight to be faught. It is the desires of one's total being to do - to create - and to relay with passion. It is the love of the process, the echo of the reader's response and the complusion to "dream big."
Dream big and then stuff it with simple ideas of excitment and expectations. Of simple execution rendering it into great master pieces appealing to the reader and the world.
As one copy writer stated in her titled article: I WRITE, THEREFORE I AM ... is right. Are you a "therefore I am" person?
