Auto Recalls, Manufacturers Not Producing Safe Enough Vehicles

JDC INSITE: New Lenox, IL - U.S.A. ...Auto manufactures are not producing safe enough vehicles, nor are they paying enough attention to quality control issues of checks and balances. Are you paying for repairs that have to do with safety or functionality issues?

The latest Ford Motor recalls on Cruise Control problems came years after the vehicles production date. The Cruise Control system has the capability to start on fire while the vehicle is not in use. In one case the vehicle was garaged and started on fire, burning the house down completely. Law suits are pending.

"If you think your O.K. because you don't own a Ford or a particular model on recall, think twice."

The Old Run-A-Round: The auto manufactures don't appear to care unless their forced by the public or government to make changes. Remember, the car-dealers have a lot at stake. They depend on you and your repeat business or referrals. Many times the dealer has no controlover the situation, but cumulatively they can input to the manufacturer that their dealership is under assault, and may be losing business. It's surprising on an individual basis what a car dealer will suddenly manage to do.

Let your car manufacturer know how unhappy you are. A hand full of letters or e-mails isn't going to do it. If you want better ... you've got to fight for better. Please don't take the attitude they won't pay attention anyway. Don't let them get away with not being accuntable. What good is it if they sell you a new vehicle at employees discounts, and it starts on fire or causes you to loose control to kill someone you love. "Where there is lack in little, there is indifference and lack in much."

If you don't want to call, e-mail or send a letter to the dealer you purchased your vehicle from. Send the same to the car manufacturer. If they don't respond call or resend again. Would it be worth it to you to get the safety and quality your suppose to have by standing firm in sending a handful of letters? The impact this would make throughout the country would be tremendous. Don't vent your frustrations in an angry fashion. Make sure to give the maufacturer more respect then they have given you. It will help assure your letters and e-mails are read.

Safety in vehicle production did not always exist. It was because of consumer outcry that it has become regulated.

A JDC RECOMMENDATION: The Auto Recall information provided by Vincent Ciulla is of excellent content. You may want to add this link to your favorites. It can help you determine recall issues, monitor model track records in buying a new vehicle, and especially valuable in purchasing one used. www.autorepair.about.com
